5 Exercises for Longevity - don't wait until you're "too old"
I’m watching this video at work and commenting on my phone. This helps so much with where I want to be in my body. You guys continue to rock.
Thanks
Excellent, looks very balanced and achievable.
Thank you it is very helpful😊
How important is it to keep your heels on the ground?
it's "ideal," but if you can't don't give up... do what you can, and you'll increase that range of motion in the ankles with practice.
Thanks for your knowledge concerning hand position.
Can I attach both the rings to a single point (one ceiling hook)? When doing a hold, they would look something like this: /\
it makes changes the physics of most movements and makes it more difficult to develop good form
I can’t get anywhere near the crab toe-tap exercise. Any simpler version for beginners to help build up to the real thing?
do what you can - if you're completely incapable of mimicking the movement, then this is not appropriate for your level, and you should look at any of the many other videos we've made that are marked as being for beginners.
@@gmbfit Thanks, will check them out. I’m quite strong in other ways - ie push ups etc but finding this one too hard - probably lack of flexibility.
@@jacc88888 right on - then that's what you need to work on :)
I can do them all 🎩😸🤸🏽♀️👌🏾👌🏾
congrats. next step = do them better :)
can this break the fall from my heart 🥺 Im always falling way too hard tbh
Its too hard:(
Wow- amazing - #Snack …well, a #WholeMeal.
❤❤❤❤❤🎉 LOVE THIS Thank You! Subscribing now 😜 👍
Thanks for the tips.. I could do these as a teenager.. Now 65 , I want to re visit the kip up
You focus on that base of strength and mobility... then the skill progression will be pretty easy to get with some practice :)
@@gmbfit Roger that !
Good stuff, thanks. What is the value of doing the sit-back as part of the reverse row?
it makes you continue the hold as you transition through a different plane of motion
Hey! I type alot on my computer, and have trouble doing pushups, how long will it usually take to see results from this routine? Thanks!
if you're gentle and consistent, a few days
Thank you so much
Thank you
Which program do u suggest for reducing lower backpain?
What other training are you doing?
@@gmbfit I currently do bodyweight basic exercises like pull-ups rows pushups pike pushups and squats . My mobility flexibility is not great very tight body with lower back pain problems.
@@TkSebastian I'd suggest doing Elements in your case :)
My hips definitely feel looser after this one. Thank you!
Monkey bars are like pull-ups for me. Humbling. But I’m getting stronger and hangin longer. Thanks.
I managed to get it on my 4th attempt at the end of my session 😂
keep practicing, and you'll get better at it
Minha perna ainda não sai do chão kkkkkk triste
This just did it for me.
Who's here 40 years old trying to this ? 😂
No shoulder roll? A staple of martial arts. It literally saved my life today as I was going for groceries. As I stepped into a missing tile I went face first towards the ground. I remembered my training, did a shoulder roll and came out relatively unharmed. I hoped to send a video to my partner on how to fall properly if it ever happened to them and found this video first suggested, but I'm feeling a bit puzzled with that being excluded. Especially since martial arts experience is immediately mentioned and you proudly hang your black belt on the wall behind you. Just saying, the shoulder roll is sorely missing from this video. Unless this video is aimed towards the elderly, that would explain a thing or two. If I had put my hands flat to save myself today I most likely would not have been typing this right now.
There's a million things we could have included. Alas, this is an introduction in a short video... :)
😂 you a funny one.
🤦
I have a concussion and cannot stand while closing my eyes. Any advice? I still close my eyes while standing on one foot but lightly hold onto something with one finger.
Like any medical situation, you need to rest and heal as necessary and then go very gradually with what you *can* do in the meantime. Don't force anything that causes pain or is otherwise dangerous.
Is it better to keep the feet “straight like train tracks”? You say in this video it doesn’t matter, but all martial arts teach feet straight, and typical of martial arts, there is usually a reason…so..I am asking for some advice ..
I'm not teaching a martial art. I believe the video also says that, if you are, you should do the form your teacher recommends.
Thank you for leading me here.. I'm going to do these. Even if it don't help with the main issue there'll still be some other positive effects.
I believe I have bicep tendinitis. I hurt in the inner elbow after doing pushups and the pain went away after a couple of days. I thought I was good to go and did pushups again. The elbow pain came back, went away after a day and now I have a little wrist pain that ironically seems to have gone away after doing this. Now the arm and forearm just feels uncomfortable and either a little numb or feels a little swollen or inflamed. I'll keep doing this exercise and anything else if you see this and could recommend something.
Sorry you're having to deal with that. This may help: ua-cam.com/video/-sGc5hChShc/v-deo.html :)
The best calisthenics tutor on you tube by a mile,,,,no arm waving,,just slow and precise tutorials,,,🚴
Thank you :)
Is this training offered in any of the GMB courses?
This training is here. Similar training is in most of the programs.
I'm having a tough time at the roll-up to a squat stage... I see the tip about getting your ankles as close as possible, but it's like I'm "stuck" getting up to a squat... any other tips?
How does a novice deal with extreme discomfort in hands and wrists even with the hands in the correct position and the metal bar wrapped with tape. It feels like a smaller circumference of the bar would create less strain. What are your thoughts? Thank you.
The novice works up to it without expecting it to be easy. Be gradual. Be consistent. You'll get stronger. That's really all there is to it. Do the work, and it stops sucking as much.
I fell twice at work once face forward and other was my side. Both were on paved surfaces and happened fast. Luckily I didn’t break anything and I was 68 and 71. I have had judo lessons and I think it did help but I tend to think I’m just lucky and strong for my age. Good video thanks for the info.
Being lucky and strong is a great combo :)
I ripped my pants while doing these
Can you run now and hop?
Yes
I agree with @drnitz below (or above). Most routines for beginners on parallettes assume that we can do the tucked L-sit already -- ha! No way! This progression will make performing the L-sit possible...over time.🙏
Love these pt exercises. How many times a day should i do this?
You can do it as often as it feels good and doesn't cause too much fatigue. Up to you!
I tried to push myself up but i never land
How do you do a kick up i tried but i never land on my feet
Keep practicing. Build your strength and flexibility.
But im trying to not hurt my back but i always hurt my back
Great Explanation! Thank you! I just got my rings. I'm working on this top position. Still lifting my heel, but i feel like I'm tipping forward (especially if I lift my feet). Will that improve as I strengthen my shoulders?
If you practice correctly, everything will improve :)
@@gmbfit Thank you! Appreciate the reply!
Wow. I can straighten my arms again.
That's great :) Glad it helped!
Omg thx ❤❤
Wow
The row movement has two steps, first, activate your shoulders, then pull up.
yes
